Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship programs provide an opportunity to progress from an entry-level job to a skilled position through a combination of paid on-the-job training and classroom instruction. As apprentices advance through a program, they earn incremental wage increases and nationally-portable, industry-recognized credentials. The apprenticeship model is leading the way in preparing American workers to compete in today's economy.

Financial Literacy

The Financial Empowerment Centers (FECs) provide one-to-one, professional financial counseling to Houstonians at no cost to residents. An initiative of the Mayor's Office of Complete Communities and with support from the national nonprofit organization, Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund and Regions Bank.

Houston Food Bank

Houston Food Bank’s Community Assistance Program (CAP) is focused on raising awareness in the service area of available social services and provides application and technical assistance for state-funded social and health services.

Assistance in applying for state-funded social and health services, including SNAP, Medicaid, Children’s Medicaid and others.

Houston Food Bank and its Partners provide essential services and will continue to do so. Hundreds of thousands of people are counting on the organization and its Partners now, and this need will only heighten if the COVID-19 situation worsens.

Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
